Late Night INsite

I must give props to the owner/poster of this website. I am CONSTANTLY needing a list of late night eateries. While this is not an exhaustive list, and its missing the hours of operation, its a good start. And it's more than I have posted: http://gainesville-restaurants.insitegainesville.com/restaurants/category/late-night-2

Bagels & Noodles: Breakfast & Asian

Three words: Nom Nom Nom! Oh my goodness, I go to Bagels & Noodles on cheat day so I can stuff myself silly. They have everything breakfast or Asian you can imagine. Eggs, bacon, sausage, corned beef hash, french toast. Chocolate chip, fruit, or meat pancakes (yes, traditional pancakes with sausage or bacon in them). Shrimp, chicken, beef pad thai, fried rice, rice vermicelli, miso soup, wakame salad, and LOTS, LOTS MORE! Their full menu can be found on their facebook page. This is the place I crave at 12 am and I get bummed because I know they are closed. The portion sizes are amazing, the prices are great, the service it fast and attentive, I just cant get enough of this place. I haven't been in 10 days and it's torture. I cant wait to visit Bagels & Noodles again!

OMG! Las Margaritas gets better every time!

So I'm sitting here at Las Margaritas and I can hardly believe my taste buds.  I ordered the scallops soft taco with a side of refried beans and a side of chicken.  Holy moly its the most amazing Mexican meal I've ever had!  I definitely recommend you checking them out if you haven't been, and even if you have, because i think they are amazing!

Their new location at the corners of 43rd and 39th (behind suntrust) is soo gorgeous.  Everything looks hand painted and there's an Aztec style pyramid fountain in the main dinning area.

Go get you some tacos!!!

Maui Teriyaki

I love this place. It definitely tops my “Under $10” and “Cheap Dates" lists. Their Power Bowls (meat and veggies, I like the chicken) are a great, tasty, low-carb option costing about $8.  My friend had never been there before and really loved what he got (The Chicken Bowl). They have amazing teriyaki sauce, which I cant get enough of.  On a Monday night, its was pretty quite and cozy. They have 2 locations in Gainesville.  Personally, I like the one off 34th Street the best.  It's centrally located to places I frequent in south west Gainesville.   Definitely check it out.

Favorite Eats

My list of all time favorite places to eat in Gainesville grows all the time, but here's the top 5.

1.Chop Stix Bistro
This little place is tucked away in Thornebrook Village. They have amazing food, fast service, and I love their Thai Iced Tea. The place is so gorgeous, too. You can enjoy the red and gold hues inside, or sit outside on the adorable patio. I highly recommend them for lunch, dinner, date night, and small group dinners. This is my favorite restaurant in Gainesville.

2. Lolicup
Lolicup is so yummy. They have frozen yogurt in adventurous flavors, yummy bubble teas and smoothies, and delicious snackies. It's a very cozy atmosphere in Lolicup. When Im there I curl up with a book on their sofa, break out the text books at the tables, play board games with friends, surf the web on the free wi-fi or enjoy the sunshine on the patio out front. Great great place on SW 34th street.

3. La Fiesta
I love La Fiesta for so many reasons. It's a happy, well lit family restaurant with tasty, authentic Mexican food. They have great margaritas, a full bar, a good amount of parking, and are convenient to I-75. Address: 7038 NW 10th Place, Gainesville FL 32607 Phone: (352) 332-0878

4. Satchel's Pizza
Another place I frequent is Satchel's. I have 2 of their bumper stickers on my car because I love them so much. I think this other blog does a very nice job of introducing them: http://www.visitflorida.com/experts/dining/action.blog/id.1840
Go get your pizza on at Satchel's.  Eastside on NE 23rd Ave.

5. Volta
Volta has great coffee, teas, and desserts. I have only experienced their teas, and a chocolate "Doom Cookie", I remember it being really tasty and quite the novelty to me because it contained bacon pieces. I like this place for one-on-one meet ups and studying. Groups of more than three here can be hard to secure space for at times. I love their music if I'm alone or with one other person, but its not conducive to having a group discussion if you are sitting across the table from one another.  There's never a problem parking at Volta because its located at the base of a large parking garage ($5). There is also free parking on the street during daytime hours.  Downtown on SW 2nd street. Enjoy! http://voltacoffee.com/
